LUBBOCK, TX — The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Unit is investigating a collision that occurred Friday morning, September 20, in North Lubbock, leaving three people injured.
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Clovis Road and North Detroit Avenue at 10:05 a.m. following reports of a two-vehicle crash with injuries.
According to a press release, officers found 41-year-old Amber Chowning, 30-year-old Dalton Shaffer, and 21-year-old Bryanna Pedroza upon arrival. Shaffer was critically injured and transported via ambulance to University Medical Center. Chowning and Pedroza both sustained minor injuries and were taken to Covenant Medical Center.
As of now, Shaffer's condition has been upgraded to stable. Initial investigations indicate that Chowning, driving an SUV westbound in the 2800 block of Clovis Road, collided with Pedroza’s car, which was traveling east.
According to the release, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
