LUBBOCK, TX — University Medical Center is actively investigating an IT outage affecting its network but assures the public that all healthcare facilities remain open, including Emergency Centers and Urgent Care Clinics. UMC Clinics will continue to operate as scheduled.
According to a press release, out of caution, UMC has temporarily redirected incoming emergency and non-emergency patients arriving by ambulance to nearby health facilities until the situation is resolved. The hospital is working diligently to minimize any disruptions to patient care and critical services.
The investigation into the outage is ongoing and may take some time to complete. To keep the community informed, UMC has launched a dedicated webpage that will provide updates as services are restored and more information becomes available.
UMC has enlisted third-party experts who have assisted other hospitals in similar situations to aid in the response and investigation.
Hospital teams are working around the clock to restore systems as quickly and safely as possible, stated the release.
