LUBBOCK, TX — The Texas Tech Red Raiders' home matchup against Baylor on October 19 has been announced. The Red Raiders will kick off homecoming at 3 p.m. The Big 12 Conference made the announcement on Monday, October 7, as part of its 12-day broadcast selections.
The Oct. 19 contest will also be Texas Tech's annual homecoming game, capping a week-long university celebration. As Texas Tech is trending toward announcing its fourth sellout this year, a limited inventory of single-game tickets remains for the Baylor game. All fans are encouraged to wear Red for the Baylor game.
The Red Raiders will come off a bye week, this weekend, and should be ready to put its Big 12 leading 3-0 record on the line against long-time rival Baylor. It will be the 83rd all-time meeting against the Bears.
After games versus Arizona, Arizona State, and Cincinnati, this will be the first of the season against a charter program of the Big 12 and an even deeper connection as the two were also former Southwest Conference members, having met annually since 1956. It's been a back-and-forth series that Baylor narrowly leads with a 41-40-1 advantage after the Red Raiders topped the Bears in Waco in 2023.
The Red Raiders are 19-9 against Baylor since the two joined the Big 12 prior to the 1996 season; that record includes an 8-1 record for the Red Raiders at home as Big 12 foes.
