LUBBOCK, TX — Adidas and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes have teamed up to launch a new Texas Tech football uniform that features Mahomes’ signature "Gladiator" logo. This marks one of the first times in history that an athlete's personal brand has been included in official on-field apparel.
The newly revealed "Mahomes Strategy" uniform showcases a dark grey tackle twill design with printed metallic films and power red accents. The uniform is inspired by Texas Tech’s iconic 45-degree bevel architecture and the angular elements of Mahomes’ personal iconography. The helmet, logos, and numbers are all displayed in a metallic film with galvanized finishes. Texas Tech’s football team will wear the Mahomes Strategy uniform for the first time during their Nov. 9 home game against Colorado.
Texas Tech Football released a video on its X Profile hyping up the new uniforms. While Tech hasn't released high-def shots of the uniforms yet, the teaser reveal will cause a stir.
“Seeing my own logo on the Texas Tech uniform I put so much blood, sweat and tears in is one of the most meaningful off-field accomplishments of my career,” said Mahomes, a Texas Tech alum. “I want to thank the three-stripe family for giving me this one-of-a-kind opportunity.”
The partnership between Mahomes and Adidas began in 2019, when Mahomes taped an Adidas logo over a competitor’s brand while supporting Texas Tech basketball. The latest uniform continues their collaboration, marking a new milestone in athlete-brand partnerships and Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) agreements in collegiate athletics.
In addition to the uniform, a new line of apparel will be available as part of the Texas Tech x Patrick Mahomes collection. This includes a dark grey quarter-zip, a fleece hoodie, and a new colorway of the Ultraboost 5X shoes, all featuring Mahomes’ Gladiator logo. Fans can purchase these items starting today at adidas.com, local retailers, and online platforms.

Adidas has been Texas Tech’s official footwear, uniform, apparel, and accessory partner since July. The partnership has seen several notable activations, including the debut of co-branded apparel and the signing of six Texas Tech athletes to “Team Mahomes,” a groundbreaking NIL initiative led by Mahomes and adidas.

Texas Tech’s partnership with Mahomes continues to grow following his third Super Bowl victory in February and the debut of his sold-out Mahomes 2 shoe.
The Red Raiders will debut the Mahomes Strategy uniform on Nov. 9 at Jones AT&T Stadium against Colorado in front of a sold-out crowd.
