LCU Lady Chaps Golfer Named Conference Player of the Week

LUBBOCK, TX — Lubbock Christian Lady Chaps Golfer Ali Escamilla has been named the Lone Star Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for her outstanding performance at the Nick Turner Invitational in Durango, Colorado, the conference announced on Thursday.

Escamilla, a junior from Midland, Texas, led LCU to their first tournament win of the season by overcoming a seven-stroke deficit to secure victory with a team score of 625 (+49), just one stroke ahead of New Mexico Junior College.

Escamilla's individual score of 148 (+4), which included six birdies, marked her second consecutive top-five finish. This accolade is her first career weekly honor, making her only the second Lady Chap to receive this recognition from the Lone Star Conference. The last LCU golfer to earn this honor was Lily Griffin in March 2023.

The Lady Chaps will look to build on this success at the MSU Invitational in Wichita Falls, Texas, from October 21-22, which will wrap up their fall season.
