LPD Mourns the Loss of Sergeant Kelley Pirkle

 

LUBBOCK, TX – The Lubbock Police Department announced on Oct. 24 the passing of Sergeant Kelley Pirkle, who lost his battle with cancer.

Sgt. Pirkle dedicated 25 years of service to the citizens of Lubbock and was regarded as a legend within the law enforcement community. He played a significant role in shaping SWAT teams not only in Texas but across the nation.

In a post on X, LPD expressed gratitude for Pirkle's service, saying, “Thank you, Kelley, for your service to our department, to the profession of law enforcement, and to the Hub City. We’ll take it from here.” 

The department and the community mourn the loss of a dedicated officer and respected leader.
