LUBBOCK, TX — Texas Tech University will host its annual Tech-or-Treat Halloween Carnival on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Student Union Building at 1502 Akron Ave.
According to a press release, this event provides a safe and festive alternative to traditional trick-or-treating. It features activities staffed by Texas Tech student organizations, fraternities, sororities, and campus departments.

Parking Information:
- Main parking options include:
- Lot beside the Library (R-3)
- Music Building (R-11 Band Lot)
- Visitor Lot R-13 (accessible via Boston or Broadway; 15th Street is closed)
- Overflow parking will be available at the Parking Garage at 18th & Flint.
Anyone attending is advised to arrive early, especially around 5 p.m., when campus traffic is expected to increase as staff members leave for the day.
Event Guidelines:
- Parents are encouraged to stay with their children throughout the event.
- Event staff will be easily identifiable by their volunteer badges.
- All entrances to the building will be open, and event maps can be obtained at the Information Desk, located on the first floor across from the Texas Tech Campus Store. This desk will also serve as the Lost & Found area for children.
- Photos taken during the event will be posted on the Texas Tech Facebook page, so attendees should inform staff if they prefer not to have their pictures taken.
For accessibility, the Student Union Building has two elevators: one on the Northwest side near the bookstore and another on the Northeast side by the Allen Theatre.
Visitors should consider not bringing strollers or wagons, as activities will be spread across multiple floors.

Costume Guidelines:
Costumes are encouraged, but visitors over 14 are asked to avoid masks or face paint. Additionally, costumes that include weapons or resemble weapons are not permitted.
