Firefighters Rescue Puppy in Apartment Fire, No Injuries

LUBBOCK, TX – Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to a 911 call reporting smoke from an apartment building in the 300 block of Frankford Avenue at approximately 5:45 p.m. on October 30.

According to Lubbock Fire Rescue’s X post, Engine 13 was the first to arrive on the scene and found heavy smoke and flames emitting from the garage of a two-story apartment building.

Firefighters quickly deployed an attack line to gain control of the fire and started to search the affected units.

During their operation, fire crews moved a nearby vehicle from any potential damage the fire and smoke could have caused.

Firefighters also saved a puppy trapped in a smoke-filled unit.

The fire was contained in a single apartment, though four adjacent units suffered significant damage from smoke. The Lubbock Fire Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the cause of the fire.

No injuries have been reported, and further updates will be released as more information is provided.
