FRISCO, TX — The Dallas Cowboys 2024 season has officially gone from bad to worse. Dak Prescott is scheduled to undergo season-ending surgery on his injured hamstring and is done for 2024.
Team owner Jerry Jones said on his weekly radio spot on 105.3 The Fan that Prescott is scheduled to undergo hamstring surgery on Wednesday and will miss the rest of the season.
Prescott originally injured his hamstring late during the close loss to the Atlanta Falcons on November 3. Prescott said that he thought he had just pulled his hamstring before putting weight on the injured leg and not being able to walk.
Moving forward, the Cowboys will have to rely on backups Cooper Rush or Trey Lance. Rush started for the Cowboys in last Sunday's embarrassing 34-6 loss to the rival Philadelphia Eagles. Philadelphia currently leads the NFC East with a 7-2 overall record, with the Washington Commanders trailing close behind at 7-3. At 3-6, barring a massive turnaround, Dallas' season is essentially over.
The Cowboys return to action on Monday, November 18, at home against the Houston Texans.
