Lubbock Police Identify Teens in Fatal Crash on Idalou Road

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Unit is investigating a fatal crash on Tuesday night, November 19, in East Lubbock. The incident left one man dead and another injured.

According to a press release, at approximately 7:25 p.m., officers responded to reports of a crash involving pedestrians in the 4000 block of Idalou Road.

Authorities say an unknown vehicle was traveling northeast on the access road when it struck two pedestrians, 18-year-old Zakeria Bol and 18-year-old Benjamin Brown, who were walking in the same direction. The vehicle fled the scene after the collision.

Brown was transported by EMS to University Medical Center with moderate injuries, while Bol was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Idalou Road access road was closed in both directions due to the crash but is now cleared.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Detective McPherson at 806-775-2762 or Crime Line at 806-741-1000. Callers can remain anonymous.
