Lubbock Maintains AA+ Bond Rating, Water System Upgraded

LUBBOCK, TX — Reports from Fitch Ratings and S&P Global Ratings show that the City of Lubbock has maintained its AA+ bond rating with a stable outlook, the second-highest rating a city can achieve, according to a press release.

Fitch commended Lubbock for its financial resilience, pointing to solid revenue and expenditure management marks. This shows the city's ability to handle its finances responsibly.

In the release, S&P Global Ratings also affirmed the city's AA+ rating, citing Lubbock's growing economy, solid financial policies, and healthy reserves as key factors behind its stable economic outlook.

In addition to the city’s overall bond rating, Lubbock’s Water and Wastewater System received an upgrade from Fitch, moving from an AA to AA+, reflecting the system’s strong financial performance and stability.

Both Fitch and S&P assess the city’s creditworthiness using independent methods, and their positive ratings reflect confidence in Lubbock’s financial health.
