NFL Playoff Seedings Set

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The 2024 NFL regular season is officially in the books, and now 14 teams turn their sights to the playoffs and a potential Super Bowl championship.

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs took the No. 1 seed in the AFC and have a first-round bye. Meanwhile, the Houston Texans won the AFC South and entered the playoffs as the No. 4 seed overall.

Here are the matchups and playoff seedings for the NFC and the AFC:

AFC

  • No. 1 - Kansas City Chiefs - BYE
  • No. 2 - Buffalo Bills
  • No. 3 - Baltimore Ravens
  • No. 4 - Houston Texans
  • No. 5 - Los Angeles Chargers
  • No. 6 - Pittsburgh Steelers
  • No. 7 - Denver Broncos

NFC

  • No. 1 - Detroit Lions - BYE
  • No. 2 - Philadelphia Eagles
  • No. 3 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers 
  • No. 4 - Los Angeles Rams
  • No. 5 - Minnesota Vikings
  • No. 6 - Washington Commanders
  • No. 7 - Green Bay Packers

The Dallas Cowboys finished a disappointing year on Sunday with a last-minute, 23-19 loss to the Washington Commanders. Dallas heads back to the drawing board to try and recover from 2024—meanwhile, C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans will represent the Lone Star State in the playoffs this year.

The Texans' first matchup comes against the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday, January 11, at 3:30 p.m. in Houston.
