Lubbock Accepting Jr. Ambassador Applications for Japan Trip

LUBBOCK, TX — The City of Lubbock is currently accepting applications for the 2025 Junior Ambassador Goodwill Program.

A release from the City of Lubbock notes the program offers middle school students a chance to travel to Musashino City, Japan, and experience Japanese culture firsthand.

This exchange program has been a part of Lubbock’s relationship with its sister city for over 30 years.

Every other year, 16 Lubbock students, city staff, and elected officials travel to Musashino City for a week. In 2024, a group from Musashino City visited Lubbock for a trip with a similar cultural exchange.

This year, the program is open to Lubbock students in grades 6-8. According to the release, the selected Junior Ambassadors will travel to Japan in June 2025 for a week of personal growth, cultural exploration, and new experiences.

The application deadline has been extended to February 14, 2025. For more information and to apply, visit mylubbock.us/JrAmbassador.
