New Water Line Construction to Begin in Medical District

LUBBOCK, TX — Starting Monday, Utility Contractors of America will begin construction on a new water line in the Medical District.

According to a press release from the City of Lubbock, the project is part of an effort to replace old infrastructure and improve water pressure and reliability in the area.

The construction will occur along the alley between 20th and 21st Streets on February 10, stretching from Memphis Avenue to Louisville Avenue.

Drivers traveling on Memphis and Louisville Avenues between 20th and 21st Streets may experience traffic delays and detours. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible and proceed with caution.

Due to the alley being closed, businesses will get temporary trash bins from the Solid Waste Department to use while construction is underway.

Dumpster service will be available again once the work in the alley is finished.
