ABILENE, TX — A defensive contest held until the 2nd half in the 2A Division II State Semifinal matchup between New Home and Lipan on Monday, March 3. The Leopards held tough through the first two quarters before Lipan hit a hot streak from behind the arc in the 3rd quarter. New Home fell in the end 63-41.

New Home struggled to score in the 3rd quarter, and that ended up being the difference in the game. In the first half, the Leopards kept pace until the end of the 2nd quarter when Lipan took a nine-point lead at halftime.
Lipan took control in the 3rd quarter when they outscored the Leopards 15-6. They followed that up with 22 points in the 4th quarter to put the game away.
"Our hats off to them," New Home Head Coach Koby Abney said after the game. "I have no issue with my guys. Three straight Regional Championships, three straight times playing in the State Semifinal, how could you be upset with that?"

New Home's Grayson Evans led the Leopards with 14 points, followed by Caleb Cook with 10 points.
It was another great season for Coach Abney and the Leopards. New Home finished with a 31-6 overall record and another Regional Championship to go along with a Bi-District, Arean, and Regional Semifinal Championship.
"It's been another wonderful chance to coach great kids," Abney said. "It's been an absolute blessing."
