LISD Schools Dismiss Early Due to Power Outages

 

UPDATE: LISD announced that Dunbar College Prep Academy will release students at 1:30 p.m.

LUBBOCK, TX —- Coronado High School and McCool Academy will dismiss early today, March 14, due to an extended power outage, Lubbock ISD announced in an email to parents.

Both schools will release students at 1:30 p.m. today. Buses will operate three hours earlier than the usual dismissal time.

Lubbock ISD confirmed that staff will remain on campus until all students are picked up.

Parents should make arrangements for early pick-up or expect students to be dismissed earlier than usual.

Reports have stated that other schools are experiencing power outages due to extremely high wind gusts. LISD has not confirmed if those schools will be released early.
