TERRY COUNTY, TX — A 44-year-old man from Welch was killed Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash on State Hwy 137 just south of Dawson Street near Brownfield.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred at approximately 7:10 a.m. on April 10.
A preliminary investigation stated that a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Lloyd Rolland Seeley, 68, of Brownfield, was traveling south on SH 137 when it attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot. While turning, the truck crossed the path of a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling northbound.
The motorcycle was driven by Colby Grant Jolley and crashed into the front of the truck. Jolley was wearing a helmet and suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No injuries were reported for Seeley, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the crash, says DPS.
The posted speed limit in the area was 75 mph, and both the weather and road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash.
The crash is under investigation by DPS.
