LUBBOCK, TX — Washington State transfer LeJuan Watts, one of the nation’s most versatile forwards, has signed with Texas Tech and will have two seasons of eligibility, Red Raiders coach Grant McCasland announced Tuesday.
Watts, a 6‑foot‑6 Fresno, California, native, averaged 13.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists while starting all 34 games for the Cougars last season. He logged nine double‑doubles and a 20‑point triple‑double against Santa Clara, earning All‑West Coast Conference honorable mention.
The redshirt junior began his career at Eastern Washington, where he was named Big Sky Freshman of the Year in 2023‑24 after scoring 9.4 points per game on 61.2% shooting.
In two collegiate seasons, Watts has amassed 768 points, 385 rebounds and 203 assists in 66 games. His late father, Walter Watts, played at Utah and helped the Utes reach the 1991 Sweet 16.
Ranked the No. 50 player in the transfer portal by The Athletic, Watts joins former Santa Clara guard Tyeree Bryan as the Red Raiders’ second transfer addition this spring. Texas Tech finished 28‑9 and reached the NCAA Elite Eight in McCasland’s second season.
