50th Street Bridge Over I-27 to Close for Maintenance

LUBBOCK, TX — Maintenance work is scheduled to begin next week on the 50th Street bridge over I-27.

According to TxDOT, westbound lanes on the bridge will close to all traffic beginning at 8 p.m. on Monday, April 21.

Drivers will be detoured north on the I-27 frontage road to the 42nd Street bridge, then routed back south on the frontage road to reconnect with westbound 50th Street.

Once work on the westbound side is completed, crews will shift to the eastbound lanes. During that phase, traffic will be detoured south along the frontage road to the US 84 frontage road bridge, then back north on the I-27 frontage road to rejoin eastbound 50th Street.

The repairs are expected to take several hours each night.
