AUSTIN, TX — Two fugitives recently added to the Texas 10 Most Wanted list are now back in custody following arrests in South and North Texas, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Hector Padilla Jr., 35, was arrested on April 20 at an apartment complex in Laredo by DPS Special Agents. Padilla has a violent criminal history, including multiple convictions for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and was wanted out of Webb County since December 2024 for a probation violation tied to one of those convictions. More information on Padilla’s capture can be found here.
Just two days later, on April 22, Rondarrius Davon Idae Evans, 21, was taken into custody in downtown Dallas. Investigators from DPS, along with the Special Response Team, the Mesquite Police Department, the Dallas County Marshal’s Office, and the Dallas Fire Marshal’s Office, located and arrested him.
Evans was wanted out of Bowie County for two counts of capital murder in connection with a double homicide that happened in New Boston on July 6, 2024. He also had an outstanding warrant in Titus County for failing to appear in court for a prior drug-related offense. More information on Evans’ capture can be found here.
Both men were listed among the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives during their arrests. No Crime Stoppers rewards will be issued in these cases.
So far in 2025, DPS and partner agencies have arrested 25 fugitives from the state’s Most Wanted lists, including six sex offenders and nine criminal illegal immigrants.
Texas Crime Stoppers has paid out $25,000 in rewards for tips leading to arrests this year.
