Texas Tech Maintains 7th After 3 Rounds at Big 12 Championships

TULSA, OK — Texas Tech maintained its position on the leaderboard Wednesday at the Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship, finishing the third round in seventh place after carding a 7-over-par 287 at Southern Hills Country Club.

The Red Raiders, who began the day in a four-way tie for seventh, pulled into solo seventh after 54 holes of play in the 16-team field. Their third-round total tied for the sixth-lowest score of the day.

Freshman Connor Graham once again led the way for Texas Tech, shooting a 1-over 71 to remain in the top 10. He is tied for 10th place overall at 4-over-par 214. Graham recorded two bogeys and one birdie on the back nine, where he began his round, and then finished with nine straight pars on the front to close out the round.

Charlie DeLong matched Graham with his best round of the tournament, also posting a 71. DeLong, who opened with rounds of 78 and 74, climbed to a tie for 47th overall.

Tim Wiedemeyer continued his steady improvement with a 2-over 72, moving into a tie for 30th at 10-over. Calum Scott also sits at 10-over after a 3-over 73 in the third round.

As a team, the Red Raiders hold a three-round score of 874 (+34), sitting 33 strokes back of tournament leader Oklahoma State, which posted the day’s lowest round at 4-under 276 to jump into first place at 1-over-par (841). Arizona State trails by six shots in second, while Houston, TCU, Kansas State, and Colorado round out the top six.

Due to forecasted inclement weather, Thursday’s final round will begin 30 minutes earlier, with tee times starting at 7 a.m. CDT. Texas Tech will start off with Price Hill teeing off first and Graham closing out the lineup at 7:48 a.m.
