New Water Line Installation Underway Near MLK & 24th Street

LUBBOCK, TX — Crews have begun installing a new water line near the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and 24th Street.

According to a press release from the City of Lubbock, the project will be managed by Rinks Lease Services, Inc., and includes laying an 8-inch water line, completing underground boring, and repairing asphalt in the area.

The construction is expected to improve water flow and service to nearby neighborhoods.

Until work is finished, drivers should expect traffic delays and follow marked detours around the site.

The project is scheduled to last about three weeks, the city says.

Officials ask the public to drive carefully through the area and avoid the intersection if possible.
