LUBBOCK COUNTY, TX — A crash involving a pickup and an SUV sent one person to the hospital Friday morning in northern Lubbock County.
According to the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at around 7:51 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 5400 and North County Road 1900, and involved a Ford F-150 and a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The driver of the F-150, who was alone in the vehicle, was trapped after the crash. First responders used the Jaws of Life to free the driver, who was later taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The Grand Cherokee contained a juvenile passenger along with its driver. The driver of the Grand Cherokee suffered minor injuries and was evaluated by EMS, says LCSO.
Crews from the New Deal and Shallowater Fire Departments and the Department of Public Safety assisted sheriff’s deputies at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
