Texas "Jugging" Suspect Pleads Guilty in Midlothian ATM Robbery

MIDLOTHIAN, TX — A Houston man has pleaded guilty in connection with a “jugging” robbery that targeted an ATM technician in Midlothian, Texas.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office Northern Division, Johnny Juwan Clark, 32, entered his guilty plea on April 22, before Senior U.S. District Judge Barbara M.G. Lynn to one count of interference with commerce by robbery.

The charges stem from an incident on July 3, 2024, where Clark and his accomplices robbed an ATM technician outside a Chase Bank, taking off with approximately $247,000 in cash.

“Jugging” is a type of theft in which suspects follow people as they withdraw or handle large amounts of cash and then rob them at another location.

Clark was charged in December 2024, along with co-defendants Corey Dashun Holloway, Tierra Toneisha Brandyberg, and Roosevelt Ford Valentine, as part of a superseding indictment.

All four are believed to be connected to the “Hiram Clarke Money Team,” a Houston-based criminal group known for committing jugging-style robberies and thefts in cities outside the Houston area.

According to court documents, Clark admitted that just after 5:30 p.m. on the day of the robbery, he approached the victim from behind while the technician was servicing an ATM.

Wearing a hoodie and face covering, Clark forced the technician to the ground and held his fist to the back of the victim’s head while his accomplices removed cash canisters from the machine.

Surveillance footage captured the robbery, and Clark acknowledged he was the person in the image.

After the robbery, Clark and two accomplices fled the scene in a rental car and later transferred the stolen cash into a Range Rover at a nearby apartment complex before returning to Houston.

When sentenced on July 28, 2025, Clark faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

Co-defendant Tierra Brandyberg has told the court her intent to plead guilty. However, a hearing date has not yet been scheduled. Holloway and Valentine are expected to face a jury trial in September 2025.
