US 84 & FM 41 in Slaton to Close for Repairs

SLATON, TX — The intersection of US 84 and FM 41 in Slaton will be shut down temporarily starting Monday, May 12, for pavement repairs, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

A release from TxDOT says crews are planning to mill the old surface on Monday and lay down new asphalt on Tuesday. During that time, the intersection will be closed, including overnight Monday, and is expected to reopen by Tuesday afternoon, weather permitting.

Traffic will be detoured around the area while work is being done. Eastbound drivers on the US 84 frontage road will be redirected east on Division Street, while westbound drivers will still be able to cross Division Street.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and expect some delays near the construction zone.
