LUBBOCK, TX — A man eluded SWAT and the gang unit Tuesday night after a breach of a house where a suspect was barricaded failed to find the man. A heavy police and SWAT presence was seen Tuesday night in the 5900 block of 71st Street, next to the intersection of 71st and Grover Avenue.

Reports are the incident began as a foot chase after the suspect, driving a blue Chevy, refused to pull over for a traffic stop. He led police on a chase to the house on 71st Street and was able to barricade himself in the house before police could catch him. That's when the stand-off began.

Lubbock Police Department, Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office, and SWAT are at the scene. Reports say the situation began shortly after 7 p.m..

Our reporter on the scene confirmed that long guns were drawn and trained on the front of the residence.

At around 10 p.m., SWAT breached the house. We heard Lubbock County Sheriffs Deputies announce an outstanding warrant and said “Eduardo” was under arrest over the loud speaker. The deputy ordered the suspect to, "come out with your hands up."

Moments after the order to surrender, flash bangs went off and smoke could be seen around the house where the suspect was barricaded. Then, SWAT made their entrance.

Here is the video:

After the breach, SWAT did not find the suspect. We saw police searching the attic (video above).

Lubbock County Sheriff's Office spokesman said they will release more information soon. For now, all we have heard from officials at the scene is that the man involved in the pursuit was wanted on warrants.
