Texas Tech Baseball No. 9-Seed in Big 12 Tournament

ARLINGTON, TX — The bracket for the 2025 Big 12 Baseball Championship has been set. Texas Tech earned the No. 9-seed in the newly expanded 12-team, single-elimination tournament set to begin Wednesday, May 21 at Globe Life Field.

The Mountaineers, who clinched their first outright Big 12 title, receive a first-round bye and will face the winner of No. 8 Cincinnati (16-14) and No. 9 Texas Tech (13-17) on Thursday, May 22 at 12:30 p.m. CT.

Kansas (20-10) secured the No. 2 seed—its highest ever—surpassing its previous best of third in 2014. The Jayhawks will face the winner of No. 7 Oklahoma State (15-12) and No. 10 Baylor (13-17) on Thursday at 4 p.m. CT.

TCU (19-11) enters as the No. 3 seed and will meet either No. 6 Kansas State (17-13) or No. 11 Houston (12-17) on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. CT.

Rounding out the top four, Arizona (18-12) will debut in its first Big 12 Championship as the No. 4 seed and face the winner of No. 5 Arizona State (18-12) and No. 12 BYU (9-18) in the tournament opener.

The championship marks the first time the event will use a single-elimination format. All 12 Big 12 programs enter the tournament with a top-90 RPI, including eight inside the top 50.
