Lubbock City Offices, Services Closed for Memorial Day

 

LUBBOCK, TX — City of Lubbock offices and several public services will be closed on Monday, May 26, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.

Normal operations are scheduled to resume on Tuesday, May 27.

Trash and Recycling Services:

Residential trash collection will be adjusted for the holiday. There will be no pickup on Monday, and collection will shift forward one day.

Monday routes will be collected on Tuesday, and Tuesday routes on Wednesday.

The West Texas Regional Disposal Facility, Caliche Canyon Landfill, and all Citizen Convenience Centers will also be closed on Monday. Regular schedules will resume the following day.

Libraries and Cultural Centers:

All Lubbock Public Library branches will be closed for the holiday. 

The Buddy Holly Center, Silent Wings Museum, and the Garden & Arts Center will also be closed Monday, with normal hours resuming Tuesday.

Community and Recreational Facilities:

City community centers will operate on a limited schedule Saturday, May 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will be closed on Memorial Day. Safety City will also be closed Monday.

The Burgess-Rushing Tennis Center will remain open on Memorial Day but with adjusted hours, operating from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
