Dog Rescued from Storm Drain Near Amazon Facility

 

LUBBOCK, TX — A dog trapped in a storm drain near the Amazon Fulfillment Facility was rescued Wednesday morning through a joint effort by several City of Lubbock departments.

According to a press release, Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to the 1100 block of East Hunter Street on May 21 at around 11:15 a.m. after receiving reports of a dog stuck in a sewer drain.

When crews arrived, firefighters requested assistance from the department’s Heavy Rescue team, the City of Lubbock Public Works Department, and Lubbock Animal Services.

Crews worked together to safely remove the dog without any injuries. 

The dog was taken in by Lubbock Animal Services and will on a 3-day hold before being made available for adoption, says LFR.
