Four-Vehicle Crash Sends Car Into Oncoming Train, Two Killed

 

LUBBOCK, TX — A four-vehicle crash early Thursday morning left two people dead and sent two others to the hospital, according to the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred just before 5 a.m. near Southeast Drive and Slaton Road on the 4600 block of East Highway 84. Reports say one of the vehicles involved was pushed into the path of an oncoming train. 

The driver of that vehicle, along with another individual, was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities confirmed that the two individuals killed in the crash were riding motorcycles at the time of the incident. Their identities have not yet been released.

Westbound traffic on Highway 84 remained closed, and eastbound traffic was limited to one lane, but is now open.

The crash remains under investigation.
