City of Lubbock Accepting Applications for Several Boards, Committees

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The City of Lubbock is inviting residents to apply for a variety of open positions on city boards and commissions, with terms set to begin March 1, 2026.

City officials announced that applications are now being accepted through Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025. Residents who previously submitted applications since Jan. 1, 2023, will still be considered, though they are encouraged to log in and update their information to ensure accuracy.

The following boards and commissions have openings:

  • American Windmill Museum, Inc. Board of Directors – 1 Citizen Position

  • Central Business District TIF Reinvestment Board of Directors – 3 Citizen Positions

  • Community Development & Services Board / Urban Renewal Agency – 3 Citizen & Real Property Owner Positions

  • Cultural Arts Grants Review Standing Sub-Committee – 1 Citizen Position

  • Lubbock Housing Authority Board of Commissioners – 1 Citizen Position, 1 Public Housing Resident Position

  • Lubbock Housing Finance Corporation Board – 1 Builder Position, 1 Mortgage Banking Representative Position

  • Libraries Board – 1 Position Each for Districts 1, 2, 3, and 6

  • Lubbock Business Park TIF Reinvestment Board of Directors – 3 Citizen Positions

  • North Overton TIF Reinvestment Zone Board of Directors – 1 Citizen Position

  • North Park TIF Reinvestment Zone Board of Directors – 3 Citizen Positions

  • Urban Design & Historic Preservation Commission – 1 Archaeologist/Paleontologist, 1 Planner, 2 Citizen Positions

  • Zoning Board of Adjustment – 2 Citizen Alternate Positions, 3 Citizen Member Positions
