Tricycle Derby at Safety City

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The City of Lubbock Parks and Recreation Department will host the Tricycle Derby at Safety City at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Safety City, located at 4500 Avenue U.

The annual event encourages young children to learn about safety while taking part in a fun, friendly race. The derby is open to children ages 3 to 5, with race heats divided by age group. Families are encouraged to arrive at least 10 minutes before their child’s scheduled race time.

Participants may bring their own tricycles, but a limited number will also be available on site.

Race Schedule:

  • 3-year-olds: 10:10 a.m.

  • 4-year-olds: 11:00 a.m.

  • 5-year-olds: 12:00 p.m.

The Tricycle Derby is free and open to the public, though registration is required. Families can register online at https://tinyl.co/3cRT.

The event is designed to promote early childhood safety education and provide families with an opportunity to enjoy an interactive, community-oriented experience.
