LUBBOCK, TX — Texas Tech will once again take center stage this weekend as the No. 13 Red Raiders travel to Kansas State for a pivotal Big 12 showdown, with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday on FOX, the conference announced Sunday.
The broadcast will mark Texas Tech’s fifth appearance on FOX this season, continuing a run of high-profile matchups for the Red Raiders (7–1, 4–1 Big 12). The game will serve as the national lead-in to a potential Game 7 of the World Series between the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers later that evening.
The Red Raiders head into Manhattan riding high after a 42–0 shutout of Oklahoma State—their first shutout since 2005 and their first at home since 2001. Texas Tech dominated the Cowboys in all three phases, improving to 4–0 at home and earning its seventh win by at least 20 points this season.
Texas Tech will look to break a prolonged drought against Kansas State. The Wildcats (4–3, 2–2 Big 12) have won eight straight in the series, the longest streak by either team. Kansas State leads the all-time series 15–9, having taken 12 of the past 13 meetings overall.
The Red Raiders’ last win over K-State came in 2015, a 59–44 victory in Lubbock, while their last win in Manhattan came in 2008, during the program’s last 8–1 start to a season. Since then, the Wildcats have held serve at home, winning six consecutive games at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
Texas Tech enters the week as one of the nation’s hottest teams and could rise further in the polls after climbing to No. 13 in both the AP and Coaches rankings. A win Saturday would keep the Red Raiders firmly in contention for the Big 12 title race, with just three conference games remaining after their trip to Manhattan.
Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m., airing nationally on FOX and across the Texas Tech Sports Network.
