LUBBOCK, TX — Texas Tech softball will give fans an early look at its highly anticipated 2026 season when the Red Raider Club hosts its inaugural “First Pitch Dinner” on Jan. 30 at Cagle Steaks and BBQ.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. and comes as excitement continues to build around the program following the most successful season in school history. Texas Tech finished as the national runner-up in 2025 and enters the new season ranked No. 1 in Softball America’s preseason poll for the first time.
Second-year head coach Gerry Glasco is scheduled to speak at the event, outlining expectations for the upcoming season and reflecting on the program’s rapid rise on the national stage.
The Red Raiders return senior NiJaree Canady, widely regarded as the nation’s top player, along with All-Big 12 First Team selections Mihyia Davis and Alana Johnson. Texas Tech also assembled the nation’s top-ranked transfer portal class, adding All-Americans Mia Williams, Taylor Pannell and Jasmyn Burns, as well as All-Conference performers Jackie Lis, Kaitlyn Terry, Desirae Spearman and Lagi Quiroga.
Texas Tech leads the nation with eight players ranked in Softball America’s Top 100 Players list, underscoring the depth of a roster expected to contend again for a national title.
Admission to the dinner is complimentary and includes a meal, with beer and wine available for purchase. Space is limited. Fans are encouraged to RSVP in advance.
