LUBBOCK, TX — Texas Tech moved up one spot to No. 11 in the Associated Press Men’s Basketball Top 25 following a road victory at Baylor and a home win Saturday over then-No. 6 Houston.
The Red Raiders (16-4, 6-1 Big 12) have won five straight games and extended their program record to 21 consecutive appearances in the AP Top 25.
Texas Tech is also ranked No. 11 in the Coaches Poll and sits at No. 18 in the NCAA NET rankings. The Red Raiders secured a 90-86 victory over Houston at United Supermarkets Arena for their second win over a top-10 opponent this season and are 3-4 against ranked teams overall.
Arizona (20-0) remained the nation’s top-ranked team, followed by UConn (19-1), Michigan (18-1), Duke (18-1), and Nebraska (20-0), rounding out the top five.
The Big 12 placed four teams in the rankings, including No. 8 Iowa State (18-2), No. 10 Houston (17-2), No. 11 Texas Tech and No. 14 Kansas (15-5).
Texas Tech returns to action Saturday with a road game against UCF at 11 a.m. in Orlando, Florida.
