LUBBOCK, TX — Six players from the Texas Tech Red Raiders men's basketball program were named to the 2025 Academic All-Big 12 Winter Team, the conference announced.
Christian Anderson, Donovan Atwell, Tyeree Bryan, Jack Francis, JT Toppin and LeJuan Watts each earned the honor.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.20 grade-point average, either cumulatively or over the previous two semesters, and participate in at least 20% of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen are not eligible, while first-year transfers and qualifying seniors may be considered.
Toppin and Anderson were also named first-team All-Big 12 selections this season, while Atwell earned honorable mention. Toppin, a communication studies major with a 4.0 GPA, was additionally recognized as a College Sports Communicators Academic All-American and a consensus second-team All-American for the second consecutive season.
Francis earned his third Academic All-Big 12 honor and is set to graduate with a degree in general business. Atwell, a transfer who joined Texas Tech for his final season, will graduate with a degree in applied personal finance.
Under head coach Grant McCasland, Texas Tech finished the 2025-26 season with a 23-11 record and advanced to its third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. The Red Raiders have compiled a 74-31 record over McCasland’s three seasons and were ranked throughout the year, climbing as high as No. 10 and finishing No. 21 in the Associated Press Top 25.
