LUBBOCK, TX — A major crash at the intersection of 98th Street at Indiana Avenue snarled traffic just before sunset.
The crash happened because as a gray Tundra was westbound on 98th and stopped at a light. Also stopped and immediately behind the Tundra was a blue Hyundai sedan. While waiting for the light to turn green, a white Ford F-150 with a work rack installed on the bed crashed into the back of the Hyundai, pushing the Hyundai into the back for the Tundra as a result of the force of the collision.
At the scene, a civilian bystander appeared to be giving a crash victim CPR immediately following the crash. When Lubbock EMS arrived, they took over and loaded the injured party into the ambulance and headed for the emergency room.
The crash happened at around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2024. Traffic was diverted into other lanes while Lubbock Fire Department cleared the scene. We anticipate the intersection was reopened by around 9:15 p.m.
The driver of the white F-150 could not speak English.
