Lubbock Police Identify Drivers in Motorcycle-Car Crash

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Unit is investigating a motorcycle crash on Wednesday evening, December 4, at the intersection of 4th Street and Milwaukee Avenue.

At approximately 6:45 p.m., officers responded to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger car. Preliminary information from the investigation indicates that 22-year-old Jed Hernandez was riding a motorcycle northbound in the 400 block of Milwaukee Avenue when a car, driven by 22-year-old Mary Hirst, attempted to turn south onto Milwaukee Avenue from a private drive and collided with the motorcycle.

Hernandez sustained serious injuries and was transported by EMS to University Medical Center.

The investigation is ongoing, and more details will be released as they become available.
