SUV in Reverse Strikes Parked Semi Near N. Loop 289

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Unit is investigating a crash on December 30 in the 4300 block of North Loop 289.

The accident occurred around 10:44 a.m. and left one person with serious injuries.

According to a press release, police stated that Gregg Vargas, 36, was working near his semi-truck when a 76-year-old man, William Nelson, was backing his SUV out of a parking space. Nelson’s SUV hit Vargas and the truck.

Vargas was taken to University Medical Center by EMS with serious injuries.

The Lubbock Police Department is still looking into the cause of the crash, and no other injuries have been reported.
