Calf Invades Chick-fil-A

LUBBOCK, TX — Stetson, the Miniature Scottish Highland Bull Calf, made an unexpected appearance at Chick-fil-A at Frankford and 4th Street in Lubbock for Cow Appreciation Day. Unfortunately, Chick-fil-A manager-in-waiting, Nicolas, was unaware of the event. Despite this, Stetson basked in the attention he received.

Chick-fil-A's "Dress Like a Cow Day" has been rebranded to the simpler "Cow Appreciation Day."

Stetson is raised by Rob and Stephanie Marshall, a couple from Shallowater.

"We read online that it was 'Dress Like a Cow Day,' so we brought Stetson here," Rob said.

The Marshalls run a startup called Rusted Horseshoe Mini Moos (see Facebook page), specializing in selling miniature bovines like Stetson.

"They are what you would call pasture pets," Rob explained. "They aren't good for much else except for providing lots of love. Think of them as emotional support cows," Rob joked.

Rob and Stephanie ventured into the miniature bovine business after Rob, a 17-year EMS medic, was sidelined by a back injury.

A mini moo like Stetson, a calf and male, costs $5,000, while female mini cows are priced at $3,000.

As for Chick-fil-A, the staff enjoyed hosting Stetson, but company-wide Cow Appreciation Days are on hold in 2024. Instead, the cows were busy filming a movie. Watch it here:
