Platinum-Selling Atlanta Rapper Dies at 34

 

ATLANTA, GA – Platinum-selling Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan has passed away at the age of 34, according to multiple reports. The rapper's family and a representative from the Fulton County morgue confirmed to TMZ that Rich Homie Quan, born Dequantes Devontay Lamar, died at his home in Atlanta on September 5, 2024

Reports state Lamar’s family expressed to the outlet that they are devastated and heartbroken by his sudden passing. 

The cause of death has not yet been reported, as the family is still seeking answers about their loved one's demise.

Rich Homie Quan rose to fame with hit singles like "Type of Way" and "Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)." He also enjoyed success alongside fellow Atlanta rapper Young Thug, who was accused of leading a street gang in the greater Atlanta area and was arrested in May 2002. Both Lamar and Thug were a part of Rich Gang, known for the platinum-selling track "Lifestyle."
