Liam Payne's Autopsy Reveals "Pink Cocaine" at Time of Passing

BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA — Liam Payne, a former member of One Direction, passed away on October 16 in Buenos Aires at the age of 31. Reports indicate that the pop star fell from a balcony on the third floor of the CasaSur Palmero Hotel in the Argentinian capital.

Initial autopsy results revealed that multiple substances were found in Payne's system at the time of his death. Toxicology tests detected a mix of drugs, including cocaine, crack cocaine, and a substance known as "pink cocaine." This cocktail, also referred to as Tusi, typically includes methamphetamine, ketamine, and MDMA. Additionally, forensic examiners found benzodiazepines, commonly used as anti-anxiety medications, in his blood.

Law enforcement sources reported that staff at the Buenos Aires hotel had contacted authorities about Payne acting erratically, expressing concerns that he might harm himself. When first responders arrived, they found his body in the hotel courtyard and pronounced him dead at the scene. A preliminary postmortem indicated that he died from multiple traumas and internal and external bleeding.

Witnesses have stated that Payne fell from his hotel room shortly after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16. Emergency services responded promptly, and a red tent has been put up outside the hotel as investigations into his death continue.

Payne had been in Buenos Aires for a concert earlier this month, where he was seen attending a performance by his former bandmate Niall Horan. Over the weekend, hundreds of fans gathered to mourn the singer at impromptu vigils in London and Paris.

Payne gained fame in 2010 as part of One Direction alongside Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson. He joined the group at its inception after appearing on the show "X Factor."

He was also known for his high-profile relationship with British pop star Cheryl Cole, with whom he shares a son, Bear Grey, born on March 22, 2017.
