New Big Top Show Hits the South Plains

LUBBOCK, TX – The circus is in town! Cirque Italia will perform a new production in Lubbock at the South Plains Mall from February 28 to March 3.

According to a release, the show follows the story of Rafael, a farm boy who is swept up by a tornado and ends up in the heart of a busy city. The performance will combine humor and circus acts to illustrate his transition from rural life to urban chaos.

The show's acts include the Trampoline Wall, featuring graffiti artwork inspired by street culture, and the Straps Act, which focuses on physical strength. Other acts include Quick Change, Rope, Juggling, and Skates. The performance will conclude with a Swing act that honors senior citizens and a country line dance.

Cirque Italia is known for its animal-free performances and aims to modernize the circus experience, says the release.
