LUBBOCK, TX — The Buddy Holly Center will launch its annual Summer Showcase Concert Series on Thursday, May 15, with a performance by local rock trio Velvet Grove.
Velvet Grove, formed in 2022, blends psychedelic blues and classic rock, earning a strong following in Lubbock's music scene. The band features Quinn Edgar on vocals and guitar, Matthew Silhan on drums and vocals, and Jahir Tovar on bass.
The Summer Showcase will run every Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. through August 14 in the Meadows Courtyard. Admission is free, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. While guests are allowed to bring outside food, outside beverages are prohibited after 5:15 p.m. Chairs, picnic blankets, and similar items will not be allowed inside the gates.
In addition to the live music, visitors can explore the Buddy Holly exhibitions and the Fine Arts Gallery with free admission during Showcase hours.
