LOS ANGELES, CA — Quincy Jones, the legendary music producer and composer renowned for his collaborations with icons such as Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson, passed away at the age of 91.
Jones passed away at his home in Bel Air, surrounded by loved ones. According to reports, his family shared the news, and Jones’ publicist, Arnold Robinson, confirmed the loss.
The cause of death has not been made public.
Jones started his career as a jazz trumpeter and became one of the most influential figures in popular music, collaborating with greats such as Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson.
Over the course of his career, Jones received 80 Grammy nominations and won 28 awards. Among his notable achievements, Jones produced and conducted the iconic 1985 charity single "We Are the World," which brought together numerous artists for a common cause.
He is survived by seven children, including actress Rashida Jones, known for her roles in The Office and Parks and Recreation, and designer Kidada Jones.
