VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — Teen actor Hudson Meek, known for his role in Baby Driver, has passed away after falling from a moving car in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.
The 16-year-old actor suffered serious injuries in the accident on December 19. He passed away two days later, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. The Vestavia Hills Police Department is currently investigating Meek’s death but has not released any public statements regarding the incident.
Meek made his on-screen debut in 2014’s The Santa Con and went on to appear in different TV shows, including MacGyver. He was most recognized for portraying a younger version of Ansel Elgort’s character in the 2017 film Baby Driver.
In a tribute posted to his Instagram, Meek's family shared, "His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”
Meek was a student at Vestavia Hills High School and stayed busy with schoolwork and extracurricular activities. He played football, sang in the choir, and was part of the student government. His obituary mentioned that he loved Bible study with his teammates and had a real passion for music, often making playlists for his friends. He also enjoyed snow skiing and earned his advanced open-water scuba diving certification when he was just 14. Meek was also proud to have visited all 50 U.S. states.
In addition to his acting career, Meek lent his voice to commercials for companies like Toys "R" Us and McDonald's and performed voice work for the popular online video game League of Legends. His obituary also mentioned that he worked on several major films and TV shows, some of which are set to be released in 2025.
