LUBBOCK, TX—Another weekend of hot fall weather approaches the South Plains, bringing a great deal of sunshine. The National Weather Service forecast predicts today’s highs reaching nearly 94°, accompanied by clear skies and a breeze from the south at 5 to 10 mph.
Expect mostly clear weather, with temperatures dropping to around 60° tonight, as south winds continue at about 10 mph.
Looking ahead to Saturday, the sunshine will continue and be hotter with a high near 96° and southwest winds at 10 mph. The evening will remain mostly clear, with lows settling around 59°.
Sunday will continue the trend of clear skies, with a high near 94°. Winds will start from the west, shifting to the southwest in the afternoon. When the sun sets, expect clear skies and lows around 54°, with south winds changing east after midnight.
Columbus Day’s forecast remains bright, with expected highs near 85° and sunny skies. Winds will be light from the east-northeast, moving to south-southeast on Monday afternoon. Overnight temperatures will cool down to the mid-50s.
