WOLFFORTH, TX — Frenship Tigers quarterback Holden Phillips is up for Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, Mr. Texas Football Player of the Week, for his performance last Friday against Wichita Falls Memorial.
Mr. Texas Football annually recognizes the most outstanding high school football player in the state of Texas. Each week, fans are given a chance to vote for the player of the week on TexasFootball.com. At the end of the high school football season, 10 finalists will be named. Fans can then cast their vote as to who should be named Mr. Texas Football. The winner of the Mr. Texas Football Award will be announced prior to the TaxAct Texas Bowl.

Phillips lit up the stat sheets as he led his team to a 66-42 stomping of the Mavericks in Wolfforth on September 6. Holden threw for 532 yards through the air with 8 touchdown passes in the victory.
The Tigers quarterback has led his offense to an impressive start this season, averaging 56 points over the past two games. Frenship will need this kind of production moving forward before the start of district play.
The Tigers hit the road this weekend when Frenship travels to Wichita Falls to take on Legacy High School. Kickoff in that matchup is scheduled for Friday, September 13, at 7 p.m.
