LUBBOCK — The National Weather Service forecasts a wet day as scattered showers surround Lubbock for most of today. However, expect clear skies and plenty of sunshine for the rest of the week.
Sunday, September 22, forecast shows a high near 68°F, with showers and thunderstorms likely until 4 p.m. The chance of precipitation is at 60% and north winds are at 15 mph. Sunday night will have a 30% chance of showers before 10 p.m. with lows around 50°F, accompanied by north winds of 10 to 15 mph.
Monday will bring sunny skies with a high near 77°F. Winds will stay to the north, but down to 5 mph. Monday night will mostly clear, with lows around 57°F and south winds at 5 mph.
The cooler-than-normal weather will continue and a chance of thunderstorms comes back on Tuesday, with the forecast predicting a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms with a high near 82°F. Winds will remain calm at 5 to 10 mph from the southeast and the chance of precipitation at 50%. Tuesday night is expected to be wet with a 50% chance of showers and a low around 57°F.
The remainder of the week will clear up and remain sunny with highs reaching around 83° F.
