WOLFFORTH, TX — Frenship Independent School District will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its newest campus, Ridgewood Elementary School, located at 5506 Xenia Avenue, on Wednesday, September 25, at 10 a.m. The community is invited to join school administrators and local leaders in celebrating the opening of the new school.
Ridgewood Elementary is the ninth addition to one of Texas’s fastest-growing school districts, serving nearly 12,000 students across 16 campuses in the Wolfforth and Lubbock areas.

Construction on the 112,000-square-foot campus began in November 2022. Last fall, the Frenship community helped name the new school, which opened its doors in August 2024, welcoming over 500 students.
The new campus features 63 classrooms, a full-sized competition gym, and various amenities similar to Frenship’s other elementary schools.
Ridgewood Elementary is one of three new schools approved by voters in the Frenship ISD 2020 Bond.
Alcove Trails Middle School opened last August, while Frenship Memorial High School is set to open in August 2025.
